Saurday's Night Run

Well there were about 12 of us that made it. We met at Hunt Camp and headed for Daniel. Kevin Walker was leading the trail.  As we approached the big hill at Daniel, Kevin's Zuk started over-heating so he pulled to the side to let everyone go around him. Most everyone got up then a CJ7 (sorry I don't know your name) transfer case wouldn't stay in 4 LO. After quite a while he was finally able to make it up Daniel. Later as we were going down the other part of Daniel Kevin broke his passenger front lower shock mount.  Kevin and John Fries definitely gave Team McPherson a run for their money with the way they had the shock removed in record time. We were back on our way and headed to Kodak rock.
As we got to Kodac rock, we were greeted by approximately 10 intoxicated campers sitting on Kodac waiting for a show. Most everyone took the by-pass to the left. Richard and Sponge Matt took the center "hard by-pass" and Tom KnOPTIMA was the only person who tried "KODAK".  Even with the awesome spotting of Kevin Walker, Tom was not able to spank the rock this night. Ever since the rains in the middle of April, Kodak has become worse, in fact the whole hill there has become pretty banged up with the by-passes even becoming rutted out. What once were small pebbles have started to take form in that of their larger brother, Kodac. Depending upon our rain fall this season, Kodac may have plenty of stubborn obstacles that will equal it's existence in a year or two.
We left Kodac with our sights set on Dickey Bell.  We had a 4 wheeler tag along with us for the rest of Rocky Mount. He must have been bi-lingual because he was speaking very fluent Drunkanese.  And who could forget that annoying horn he had. Finally he was polite enough to half block the trail and wave Kevin and Richard on around him.  As we left Rocky Mount headed for Dickey Bell, our tag along left us and retired to his lovely van (at least we hope it was his).
Once on Dickey Bell,  Kevin "Am I the only one overheating?" Walker over heats yet once again.  As our convoy once again starts, we run into some 4 wheelers which pull out of our way and let the Big Dawgs pass.  As we are on one of the most narrowest parts of the trail, we run into a rouge TJ who is coming the opposite way. After a short delay here, we are back on our way.  Allan's CJ starts having some carb problems and looks like a diesel once from all the black smoke coming out of his exhaust.  It finally seems to act a little better and off we go again.
We decide to call it a night and head back to Hunt Camp. Before we leave, there is a small "Buffet" of sandwiches and camaraderie.  Joe is filling up his tires with a power tank when it starts raining. It never fails, just as we are leaving God decides it's time for dust control. We get back to Hunt Camp and load up and head out.  Tomcat, Kevin and Tom Knoptima are the last to leave around 12:45 am.
The night ride was a huge success and everyone had a blast. I can't wait for the next one. See everyone at my house tomorrow for the cookout!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
