Tellico & Blairsville 2003

The trip to Tellico was a lot of fun. Everybody was there by 1 and we hit the trail by 3.  We headed for school bus (trail 12) but on the way to a wrong turn and ended up at guard rail. There was a small traffic jam caused by a very young kid in a broke down rock buggy. They where having problems winching the last 50 feet (couldn't figure out why?) so we turned around and headed back towards 12. We got there and started up, the initial 200 foot run was a lot of fun and really crazy. We then hit a hard left turn then rock ledge. After that we had a good time with a few crazy up hill runs with a little water added. The only bump on the rest of trail was the Toyota squad. I think Toyota's are fine but the two in the group of 5 we came across were not thinking straight. The truck up front got stuck while coming down the trail. So the second guy figure he would just bump him with the front of his truck. The problem with this idea is that he didn't have a bumper, grill or anything but an exposed radiator. So he ended up with a large whole in his radiator. Duh-huh??? So it started to get dark and we needed to head back. On the way back John S new super swampers bent over both of his upper shock mounts so we didn't get back until late.

On Saturday we headed towards Blairsville. It was one of the best rides I have been on in a long time. You ask why? We had the entire park to our selves. We went through the whole place in just a few hours. It was a lot of fun since all the trails where a little wet and the clouds had rolled in. The only down side was trail 233? which became a winch fest but it was a lot of fun.
