Day 6- Gemini Bridges and Bull Canyon
The crew now consisted of Wes, Margaret, and Taylor in the Pale White Horse II, Joe in the Scrambler, Brett and Beth in his black TJ, John Stowe in the Slippery Lizard, and Jeff Boone (me) in the Rock Rat. We headed about 10 miles north of town to the Trail head and proceeded to the bottom of Gemini Bridges, which are two natural bridges that are spectacular. After that we had a play session on some sand hills that were a blast. We then continued on the trail and it took us to the top of the bridges where we got some great photos. It was there that John had a problem with his right shock, so he removed it. It was then that we noticed that the two bolts that hold the passenger side spring to the axle tube had worked their way completely out. I pulled out a couple of replacements from my hardware stash that were not quite the right length, but with a little shimming they worked fine. It should be noted that in order for us to find our way everyday either Brett or Joe plugged in the GPS coordinates from the trail book to Brett’s GPS unit. That night over burgers and beer we came up with the game plan for the next day’s ride, which was a doosy. The plan was for 3 of the hardest trail miles that any of us had ever done.
